Record Passenger Numbers For 2006!

Malaga airport has broken its own record for passenger numbers last year with a total of 13 million 76,252. The number is 3.2% higher than that seen in 2005, according to AENA, the Spanish Airports Authority.

Most of the international passengers were British, more than 5 million of them, followed by 1 million 147,000 Germans and close to 600,000 Irish.

There were 127,769 take offs over the year, 3.1% up on 2005. Over five million kilos of cargo was carried and the post weighed more than a million kilos.

Nationally a total of 193.2 million passengers used Spain’s airports last year.
