When they arrive they will need the following assistance from a guide, they are bothfit and healthy and DO NOT need wheelchairs.

Assistance to find a luggage trolley.Assistance to find the check-in deskAssistance to find the departure gateAssistance to find airport facilities (cafe, airport shops etc.).Would you be able to arrange this for them?If so, could you tell me the best place for the taxi to drop them?Would someone be able to meet them?

Thank you in advance.

Hi JoanneThank you so much.Your help is greatly appreciated.Regards Linda

Hi Linda,
Im sorry, but this is one of those cases where the airline blames the airport and the airport blames the airline.

The only thing I can think of is that you call http://www.mobility-spain.com/ who are predominatly for weelchairs etc but they may be able to help or know someone else that can help.

Good Luck

Regards

Joanne

ONCE is a big charity here for deaf and blind people, and generally the Spanish are quite apprechiative of peoples needs. So if they can get to the information desk Im pretty sure that someone will see that they do need help.

It would be great to hear how they got on as we really are trying our best to get more information for people with disabilities on the website to help others.

Kind regards

Joanne

Hi JoMy son and his partner had a good journey home. On arrival at Malagaairport everyone was very helpfuland someone took them to the check in desk. From there the Globespanpeople were very good and veryhelpful so they had a very smooth journey home.Thank you for your efforts on their behalf and good luck with developingyour information for the disabledat the airport and on your website.

Cork to Malaga & Motorised Buggy Help

Dear Jo

My wife will be arriving at Malaga Airport on June 3rd at 10.45 from Cork, Ireland and since she has trouble breathing she will need one of your drive-about buggies to get her to baggage reclaim and then on to the taxi rank. Can you help me please?

Thanks

Lawrence Vail

You should really first speak to your airline as they are the ones you have the contract with.

However, everytime we come of an airplane there is always a motorised buggy waiting. You could also have a word with the airsteward just before you land to check that one will be there if you wish.

From Baggage Claim Im not too sure. You maybe able to have a chat with the guy who takes you from the plane and see if he can take you to the taxis. Just be pushy and ask. We have seem numerous able people slip these guys a fiver to take them!

Good luck I hope all goes ok

Motorised Buggies at Malaga Airport

Hi Jo,

we have a freind who has a problem with gout, can we prebook those motorised pick up buggies to run him to the baggage area?

Arriving Sun.

thanks Fred.

My Reply...

Genereally when you get out of the plane there are always buggies waiting. If your friend looks like he needs it, they will take him. If unsure, mention to the stewards on board the plane when arriving.

Disabled Travelling around the Costa Del Sol

My husband is experiencing difficulty walking distances. Can you advise me if the motorised transporters which take passengers to the Passport control on arrival have to be booked in advance or do we just get on one as it becomes available?

We are staying in Maro about 4 kms past Nerja. Can you give me an idea of the cost of a taxi?

Thank you

Aileen

My Reply...

Hi,
Everytime we have every landed at Malaga Aiport there are always the buggies to help people that need it.

Just before landing, maybe mention it to oneof the Stewards, but I am 99% certain that there will be a buggy there and if they are occupied they will just call for someone else.

Re a taxi, we normally work on 1euro per km.
