Circus in San Pedro Marbella
Every year we see the circus being put on in San Pedro, Marbella, on the Feria Ground near the Market and have never been before. A friend called us last week and asked if we fancied going on Sunday. So we did, and actually, it really was much better than I thought it was going to be and the kids really, really enjoyed themselves. Which is the main point!
Getting to San Pedro
San Pedro is just a few minutes drive from Puerto Banus depending on traffic. If you continue on the N340 towards San Pedro, take the next major turn off after Puerto Banus and continue to drive around. You will come to a large industrial area where there is a large feria ground and also the Market on Thursdays
Buying Tickets for San Pedro Circus
This year 2007 the circus was here from 4th to 9th April. There were 3 shows a day, 12pm, 3pm and 5pm. You can buy tickets at the desk just outside the circus. Prices vary depending on where you want to sit, but you can more or less see from all seats. prices range from 10 euros to 25€uros. Kids 2 or under free.
In the Circus
Once inside, we took our seats, there were lots of us, but we went to the 12pm show so it was still very early...so not too many people. A lady came round with a baby tiger, taking it to all the children whilst another woman took photos.....its kind of obligatory and so is paying there and then! 15€uros for the photo but it was very cute.
Once the show started, the first bit was lots of animals. If you are against animals being in circus´s then dont go! There were tigers, donkeys, camels, ponies etc all doing the usual stuff. I did feel a little worried as there were lots of tigers in such a small space, but worried incase they escaped! Its all show and these circus people really did seem to love the animals.
Then the second part was Trapeeze Walking, Juggling, Acrobats, Dancing etc. Its really ws very good and my daughter and all her friends had a great time. Music was really loud, but really got you in the mood. The whole show was around 2 hours.
