The amount of restaurants in Puerto Banus is unbelievable. As you take a stroll along the port it really is restaurant after restaurant after restaurant. They open, they close, they re-open with a different name, they re-form. There is always something new and something going on.

If you are going to eat on the Port then you have to expect to pay a little more for the location. Picassos Pizzeria has quite goodl prices and there are a few other restaurants that do a set lunch for 15€ which is good value. But the majority, you will expect to pay around 20 - 30€ just for a main course.

In the summer months, you must try and book where possible. You may think, you will be able to get a table, but if you go out around 9pm, there will be queues everywhere. Even the restaurants that are normally empty the rest of the year, it gets very very busy.

If on a budget and need to watch what you are spending, becareful ordering fish and specials with no price...you could end up paying hundreds like some friends of ours.

When it comes to tipping, the norm is 10% as in the UK. I dont think it was a few years ago, but with so many British coming here and just doing what they do in the UK, the Spanish have got used to receiving big tips. Generally when in a large group Spanish leave a Euro per person.

When we first moved here, we were told that if you are just taking a coffee and a pastry, then you dont need to leave a tip. In a restaurant maybe leave a little less than 10% and in a big group, you would leave a euro a person. However, normally now, a restaurant would add service charge onto your bill if it was a party of 10 or more.

Enjoy yourselves
